LUSAKA , Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Zambian Vice-President Guy Scott has appealed to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to give the southern African nation a chance to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the Times of Zambia reported on Tuesday.
Zambia, he said, was well poised to host Africa' s soccer showpiece as it had good infrastructure both for football and accompanying facilities like hotels and airports.
"We are in a good position to host the Africa Cup in 2019. I know you are just looking at infrastructure but we have it all," he was quoted as saying by the paper during the visit of the team from CAF that is in the country to assess the country' s ability to host the event visited his office.
